A Romantic Getaway at Lismore Castle
Described by American Vogue magazine as ‘ultra-romantic’, Lismore Castle’s seven acres of gardens are exclusively for castle guests from early evening.
Stroll through the ancient yew tree avenue, lose yourself amongst the wildflower meadows, climb fairy-tale turreted towers or dine under the vine-covered pergola for supper under the stars.
Among the meadows and orchards you’ll find a greenhouse designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and sculpture by Eilís O’Connell, David Nash and Franz West. This is Ireland’s oldest continually-cultivated garden, where magnolia and rhododendron bloom.
The romance continues in Lismore Castle itself, stepping into a vast hideaway of grand staircases, enchanting bedrooms, tapestries, Old Masters and contemporary art.
All guests are attended by the family’s private team, led by Denis Nevin, who has been the castle’s Butler for over 45 years. Every detail at Lismore has been carefully considered and overseen by the Devonshire Family and Lord and Lady Burlington, for whom this special sanctuary remains a private home.
