The castle
Immerse yourself in the rich history of this magnificent castle during your stay. Accessed via a long, walled drive, the property’s Gothic grandeur rises from a forested cliff. Step through our doors into a series of magnificent spaces including the medieval banqueting room, or seek out less formal corners – from the toy-stuffed children’s playroom to your private courtyard garden.
The rooms
For that luxury getaway break, our 15 bedrooms allow you and your guests to spread out and relax. Sleeping up to 27 people, no two rooms are alike. Some feature roll-top baths and tapestries, others roaring fires and forest views. Personal touches such as family photos and portraits are throughout, a reflection of the family’s long history of visiting this much-loved home. Please note that the castle is only available to rent in its entirety, not as individual rooms, ensuring exclusive privacy for your stay.
Dining
Throughout your castle stay, be prepared for culinary delights meticulously planned by our head chef, who makes everything from scratch – including jams and chutneys made with produce from the castle gardens to breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. Dine in the banqueting hall, or relax next to the firepit for supper under the stars. The family’s team of private staff – including butlers, gardeners and cooks – will take care of your every need throughout your stay.
The gardens and gallery
Described by American Vogue magazine as ‘ultra-romantic’, Lismore Castle’s seven acres of gardens are open to the public by day but exclusively yours come early evening. Among the meadows and daisy-filled orchards you’ll find a greenhouse designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and Lismore Castle Arts, a gallery hosting internationally-renowned exhibitions. Private tours and talks by the curator can also be arranged offering a truly enriched cultural experience during your castle break.
